Tamara is a mother of 4 children aged 11, 5, 3 and 1. She lives just outside of London and home-schools her youngest 3. Homeschooling whilst not an easy decision to make, it is not as difficult as you may think. There are lot of online resources, special classes and home-school clubs to join and take part in that you do not need to worry about how to do it all. So many have done it before and a lot more are choosing to do it, that there are plenty of maps and tools to help you navigate teaching your child/children at home. Tamara talks about the reasons why she personally chose to home-school her own offspring and how she came to make that life changing decision. She covers everything from the intended destruction of a child’s natural creativity to the underlying racial issues that some people are still unfortunately facing in schools. Tamara’s eldest son has experienced quite a lot of racism from older teachers at the high school he goes too and Tamara talks about why she will not allow her other children to go through anything similar. Tina and Tamara discuss the fact that the current education system seems to be none other than a factory to make slaves. They talk about the problems that are not being dealt with because schools fear bad ofsted reports and loss of funding. For instance, bullying often goes unreported as many schools refuse to admit they have a problem because of the reprimands they face. These are just some of the situations parents are currently faced with and there are so many factors to consider that this is really not a show to miss. Homeschooling is not as hard as you might think and if it’s something you have ever considered then this is definitely the show for you.
